The dryer is fitted with Infra-red and blowing arrangement on top of the RTF of the folder before the web enters the folding sequence.

The book printers use 75-80 GSM Map litho paper for general books as well as text books. The paper is slightly calendared and the absorption of ink is lower than when printing on newsprint etc. The high speed of web sometimes tends to cause map litho paper to leave set off on the other sheet, showing as a smudge. This also happens at nipping stage as well as delivery stage due to belts.

IR Dryer equipped with blower dries the ink and is helpful in avoiding the above problem.
